Hey guys....I was wondering if an imporperly adjusted throttle cable can have drastic effects of the way an sr will idle/run? I know there is a decent amount of play/slack you can add or take out by loosening or tightening the nuts on the end of the throttle cable where it mounts on the intake mani....can this really affect the motor??? If so...how do you properly adjust it?

Just adjust it so that the slack is removed from the cable. Its no big deal at all. If the cable were too tight then the butterfly would not be able to close all the way so the idle would be higher. It would be the equivalent of the acclerator always being depressed a little. (Note: this is NOT, however, how one would adjust the idle)
