Hey guys, I'm looking into changing the small *** throttle body on my CA18DET.

Now I know the one from the KA24DE fits, but I was wondering does the one from the KA24E fit? I want to know what exactly fits in there!

Thanks

JJ

91-94 KA24DE is the only one that I know fits (since they use the same TPS)

Beyond that I don't know what to tell you, some of the S14's used a different style TPS and it's not compatable with the CA, so if you go to a yard be sure to check it out.

Yes the KA24E throttle body works just fine. I used my ported throttle body off my old ka on my ca. The tps is the same, except you have to flip the throttle body upside down and it'll bolt straight up. Make sure you re-adjust the tps for the right idle speed.

im going to bring this back from the dead..

i went and got the KA-DE throttle body off my friends extra manifold in my basement, and i'm probably going throw this on within the next week or so. I've read almost all the threads on this and the write-up on Driftopia, but i still have a question or two, just to be sure.

The CA throttle pulley bolts on as long as i use a dremel to open up the center right?

The CA TPS bolts into the KA-DE TB yes?

obviously, porting manifold is a must.

^^those three things are all i have to do correct?im going to take the manifold and fuel rail off tomorrow or something to install the TB and install my Nismo FPR (haha!) thanks.

last i check all that was needed was match port the intake with the tB, but the assembly were the TPS goes IS different...so u switch that over to the KA TB...

I just put mine on and drove it. I was unaware you needed to change anything. Its just the same 0-5v signal as any other Nissan throttle body.

Oh! and don't forget to plug up the little vacuum source on the bottom of it, or your car will run like crap.

Dalaz said the "assembly" where the TPS goes..it just requires the TPS to be swapped correct?

I'm running a FWD Stanza KA24E tb, which I recommend to anyone who hasn't done a larger TB yet. The KA Stanzas seem to be in great supply in my area, always at least one at pick 'n' pull, DOHC 240SXs, not the case. AND unlike the 240SX ka24e tb, the pulley is on the correct side (no need to have coolant lines on top)

I dunno about swapping TPSs, the one that came with my swap has the same part number as my old KA one and the Stanza one. So I don't think that's really necessary. Just make sure whatever one you use is in good working condition.

I did have to swap the CA18 pulley over, it's the little metal wheel thing the cable attaches to. I don't really remember quite right, but if you use the KA pulley there's too much slack in the line for it to work. It's easy to do though, unbolt the nut and swap it over.

Boring out the plenum opening is surprisingly difficult, or at least I had a hard time lol. I used a tungsten carbide bit on my Dremel and it still took forever, and I didn't even do that great a job. Oh well, haha.

I used a SOHC KA TB and it worked great. Regardless, the plenum will need opened up.
