I know that the stock tb is good for more than as mouch power I want out of my RB. I don't know where else to ask so I'll do it here since you all seem to know your ****. If a q45 tb is good if you have more than 450-500 hp, Would it be suitable for a 800-900 hp 454 big block chevy? I'm switching my malibu over to efi w/ megasquirt when the turbo goes on it. My intercooler piping will be 3". Any help you can give would be great.

Apexi and Tomei both utilize the Q45 Throttle on 1000 HP plus Cars. Now those are six cylinders spinning at 9-11000 RPM, however, if it can flow the air required for a 6 cylinder to make big power I am sure it can flow the air for a V8 to make similar power, but I could be wrong. I got into cars while I have been here in Japan so my experience with American V8's has been nothing more than seeing them sometimes.

I would look to manufacturers of American V8 parts for my induction needs. BBK, Holley Barry Grant etc.

I will probably go with a bbk but it is the same size as the q45 TB. I just don't know how much more air the v8 will use. It is a bored out 7.4L (7.5L now) and revs to about 6800.

it's a 105mm .... and that is a little bit larger than the 4" pipeing I used on the intake side.... it's my new street car.

who makes the throttle body? how much power are planning on?

My plan is to get my malibu finished. I've got just about everything I need to finish it except new ring&pinion w/ spool, axles, EFI components, and some other small stuff. Once that is finished it should be in the 9's. Then I'll get a dually to pull the bu to the track and to get my bike to sturgis.

So, do you know how to measure for vband? Is this a 5" v band? I assume the intake pipe is a 3"
