how big is the ca18's throttle body? i am going to buy some intercooler piping in the next couple days and i read somewhere that the cold pipe should be similar to the tb size.

anyone try one of the ebay intercooler cores (with end tanks welded on already)?

I'd guess about 3". My FMIC had a 3" cold side and it was basically the same size as my TB.

no, it isnt. i think the sohc unit fits on the ca with some modifictaion. not sure about the de. watch out for the tb though, its not quite 3 inches OD. i got a 3in to 2 1/2in silicone reducer for my i/c piping (cost me $30 or something rediculous) and it was too big, so i had to wrap the tb in bicycle inner tube and wedge the silicone reducer on top so it wouldnt leak. the OD is about 70mm (2.75in) so make sure your piping is the right size and everything!!

I'm guessing compressor since the topic has been on throttle bodies and silicone couplers. 2"

ya, compressor. i am just getting some ideas for intercooler stuff, i think untill i get more money i am gonna use the stock sidemount, then get a core off ebay and have a exhaust shop fab up some pipes. i would fell better to have more than 13 dollars in my checking account so unless you strongly discourage this i am using the sidemount for a while.matt

if you do use the side mount, most don't reccomend running higher than stock boost. you'd be just asking for troube, and a blown head gasket.

I'm sure I'll be fine on my ARC SMIC for 200+ whp.. I won't be crazy boosting and if I hit anything approaching 250 I'll be happy.
