Throttle body pulley loose

I have a 01 pathfinder, when I'm driving at about 60km or above and I take my foot off the gas there's a bit of a jerk. When I put my foot back on the gas it jerks again. It only happens when I'm moving around 60kmph or higher.

I was looking at my throttle body earlier and I noticed there were two TB cables. On the outer one, the smaller pulley was loose. I could wiggle it, and when manually turning the pulley there was about 2cm's of movement before the pulley caught and turned.

I'm wondering if this could be the cause of my jerking? Should that pulley have that loose play to it or should I tighten it up, and if so how do I do it?

Note: it's not the cable, it's the actual pulley. It seems the spring it's on might be loose, I've no real idea what I'm doing so any guidance would be great.

The jerking sounds more like the transmission problem than the engine.

I had my TB off just this last weekend, installing a new gasket, and following the torquing procedure (who known there was one.) The outer pulley is for the cruise control, and turns independently to the main pulley for the gas pedal, my outer pulley moves about a 1/4" before an arm engages the main and both move together. Both have springs to return them to the closed position, the cruise is less strong. There is a procedure in the FSM on how to adjust the cables.

So after doing some more research online and driving around a bit more it seems like I was originally barking up the wrong tree.

I seem to have what people call the death wobble caused by the control arm bushings being worn out. After finding out about these I went out to test my car. I pulled on the upper and lower rear control arms, 3 of them didn't budge. My drivers side rear lower control arm twists quite a bit with minimal force. It would seem this would be the cause of my jerk or wobble. Or if not the cause at least a good place to start with fixing it.

Can I replace only one control arm?

I've very little experience with replacing parts, the most of done is replace brake pads. I'm considering attempting to replace the control arm myself as I can get the part for around 70 dollars online? My biggest fear is if the bolts have seized and I break them off but it doesn't look super rusty. Anyone have any advice?

Yes, sure, although it's odd that one is gone and not the other. Those bolts are on there good, little chance of breaking them off, the reverse is true, I used an impact wrench, and on one had to also use heat. In snow/salt areas, they recommend replacing the bolts and nuts due to corrosion. You may want to move remain questions to an appropriate control arm thread.
