Hi, sorry to make a new thread about the topic, but I have conflicting info all over the forum.

Im leaking boost heavily through both seals of throttle body shaft. Since I dont have much hopes of finding the special vac/boost seals it uses, I guess the next option is the KA tb.

I may be able to source one locally, but I dont know which is the better fit. KA24DE or KA24E?

Any info is appreciated.

I do have a CA18DET throttle body if you want that....but I think I used a KA24DE my car. I had to use some washers with the Stock CA throttle pulley to get everything to line up right IIRC. It's been awhile since I did it and do not remember fully...

Thanks. I'll keep your offer as plan B. Let me know how much want for it.

The guy who may have the KA one locally, has a lot of engines, so if I can confirm the best option I could have it in a couple of days.

Single and Dual cam KAs have the same diameter throttle bodies.

Yeah, I won't argue that.

But the throttle cable attaches on opposite sides. I'm also guessing the KA24E one is less likely to have cruise control parts that could complicate the installation.

That is why I need confirmation for the most straightforward option.

from the sticky floats upgrade guide

"4. KA24DE Throttle Body.
-This TB will bolt right up to the stock plenum. Once again you will want to do this before you actually install the motor. You will need to remove the plenum to do this as you will want to match the plenum's inlet to the TB's diameter. A dremel with a Carbide bit will make short work of the aluminum on the manifol. Use some sort of fine grinding stone afterwards to smooth it out. You will also want to swap the pulley from the CA over to the KA TB. "

It's been damn near 10 years, so my memory is a bit cloudy, but I KNOW I used a KA-E TB, cut off the coolant lines, and flipped it upside down so the pulley was on the right side, Then via some swapping of parts and some washers, I think I was able to get all of the pulleys needed for cruise control as well.
