Sorry if this has been discussed before, but I'm curious...

When in manumatic mode, the throttle blips fairly obviously when downshifting - as it should. But I've noticed that it doesn't do this when shifting into 1st gear. It does it from every other gear, except from 2nd into 1st. Is this by design, or a flaw with my car? Mind you, I don't feel it necessary to downshift into first very much, but it's something I've noticed nonetheless.

Thanks,

Tony

I don't really know the answer to your question - or whether the actual design is supposed to have it or not!

My guess would be that rev matching for the last downshift from 2 to 1 would be a bit trickier than the rest - not getting it right would give you more of a jerk than not.

But this is a complete swag since I have a different year. Somebody with the same car (or the 2006 M45 Sport) needs to comment!

That's my guess too. However, I'd like to have someone else try this to confirm...that way I'll know if it's a design or a flaw in my car!

It sure whould be nice if someone took a few seconds during their next drive to help me out (hint hint everyone).

Tony
