Had a quarter tank of gas in today, and went to fuel it up, (91 octane) and while inroute to pick up kids, Service engine soon light comes on. I checked the gas cap twice. It is on correctly. Had the code pulled, It was a 500 type iac valve code, saying that the iac was working harder than it should, and it is causing the idle to be high.
Hopefully if I disconnect my battery, the computer will hard reset, and the code will go away.
I had the engine, intake, and gas tank cleaned with a valvoline treatment last week. And I think that the computer might be a little confused right now. Has this ever worked for others? And if it is the iac, how hard is it to get on a 2006 3.5? Where would I find it to check for vacuum leaks as well?
