ok, i found it... it is an egr related hole.

on ur jdm motors the hole is plugged by a reverse hex bolt!

the usdm one has a 5/16 square hole and i cannot get anything to fit... stupid nissan of america.

looking at the back of the head u can see it on the exhuast side... maybe 1/2 inch dia plug.

THATS what i gotta swap now.... anyone know where to get a 5/16 drive rachet?

I've got a DE also. To get the plug out I ground down a 3/8 ratchet extension to fit. I welded the hole shut and put it back in.

yeah, i almost did that... but i solved it.

About 30minutes ago i got it out. I used a small pry bar that was big enuf to fit diagnaly. i had no level that way, so i put a vyse grip on it to help turn it.

So, the transmission is going on tomarrow, followed by the DE going back in where it lived for 11 plus years. only its got a nice bonus hp gain :D
