Thread Symbols? WTF do they mean??

What do the little symbols on the side of the threads mean, the letter and the letter with a seal and the open one etc. I prolly should search, but eh..

haha, yeah, i just saw that thing on the bottom. and i think the thumbs up thing is just something to put there, nothing major.
