Amsoil has been doing that for a while:

There is a G35 write up in the list.

Here is the write-up of an unbelievable distance on the same oil:

Bypass oil filtering systems are very common on 18 wheelers around the world- it allows them 250,000 mile oil changes easily with their enormous sump capasitys.Smaller systems are marketed for passenger car use and are easy to install and really do filter down to remarkable particle size and increase the longevity of the motor, but the oil still should be changed regularly to replenish the additive package which gets consumed thru normal use-the big rigs regularly add chemicals to replenish the additives instead of more frequent oil changes

what chemical additives do ''big rig'' operators add to thier detroit's, cats or cummins? i have past experiences in otr rigs & offshore supply vesells. none used extended oci intervals. some cummins & cats used 60+ gal oil resivoirs or detroits (71 series particularly) slung enough oil thru the mating services that just adding rotella 40 satisfied most engineers . if there are add paks that do that, where are they?

It does seem that when people talk about incredible engine life with high mile oil changes, they get talking about big rigs. It's completely different than regular passenger cars. If you were to drive your passenger car at 65mph across country for its entire useable life and never let it overheat or anything like that, it would likely go 500,000+ miles before needing any sort of engine rebuild. And if it had a 10qt oil pan and oil cooler, you could probably go a hundred thousand miles or more without an oil change.

Hey Burijon, I posted that same thing before about the truck that went 409k w/o an oil change on Amsoil and people on here said that it's easier for a truck that hauls tons and tons across the nation to do so. Which made me ROTFLMAO. I know how good Amsoil is, been using it for years and the friends of mine that want to listen have all switched over and thank me for it.

As I recall Kevin, more of the "points" made by those that challenged the report, was the amount of oil (versus a cars 5 or 6 quarts) and the other oil related components (coolers, etc) and the lack of that information being disclosed within the report.

Rex, if he was running 35 quarts of oil, 400k plus is still nothing to shake a stick at. Hauling multi-ton loads is stressful on any engine.

Like I said, I have friends that I've turned onto Amsoil who are life-long gear heads in their 30's & 40's and they thank me and say it's the best oil they've used.

It looks like the standard by-pass which is under $200, but I really can't recall. I installed one on a Dodge Ram 4x4, but that was 4 or 5 years ago.
