So my BF has aquired two FMICs that his friends have laying around. One is a FMIC from a 740 volvo and the other is from a MKIII supra. Im currently running the stock SMIC and have no problems bending, cutting, and fabbing up the FMIC, but Im not sure which way to go and what is the most effective.
The 740- movement of battery and moving the radiator back(from what i understand) and fabing up pipes and going. tall however rather thin and fear it may not cool the best as well as hurt the flow to radiator. I also think that I might need to dump the stock ****ty fan and upgrade to E-fans to fuction properly correct?
with the supra FMIC- it has side entry and exit pipes just like the stock side mount and I image that i can just get a silicon turn for the in and out pipes and be done(may need to run a small pipe and then either a reducer or straight coupler to get it up front and to bolt into place properly).
Im not building for an assload of power just want something a little more reliable and better designed that the shotty SMIC. I know the MKIII supra FMIC is good for 14PSI which is way more than I ever plan on running as it is a DD.
I was wondering if anyone has gone either way. I spoke to one guy on another forum with a CA and he ran a volvo IC forever and said nothing but praises about it. I like the rather simple install of the MKIII but looking for opinions.
if you want to see what im running right now............
