I have a top mount manifold already setup for a t3 flange turbo. I have a turbo now, 70ar cold and the hot is only .48ar though. Whats your thoughts on running something like this. Do yout think that the hot side is going to be too small?

It's going to spool fast not sure if the top end is going to be there. Still better than stock tho so go for it.

I was going to give it a try but I didnt know what would happen up high. I might just try it since I got it at the right price. I can get my money back out of it if it doesnt work like planned so I might just try it anyways.

That is unless anyone knows for sure Im going to run into any issues with that small of a hot side

A lot of people prefer the .48 A/R for ~2L engines actually, and it's certainly an upgrade over stock.

Trim and and housing matter alot more for the cold side than A/R; happen to know the specs of the turbo? Plotting a flowchart before randomly bolting on turbos is always helpful.

that turbo is a hybrid, who built it? there's going to be some lag because a small turbine wheel trying hard to spool up that large compressor side. you should be fine, unless it's a chinese turbo, then you'll be worrying about something else. definately top end will be choked if the turbine wheel isn't stage 3+ version.

Ill try to find out on the trim and housing, I know I saw that info. I asked about a flow chart but there wasnt anything with it. It was a turbo from oversea but its a pretty reliable product. Had a friend use one on a Honda and it put down some good numbers and lasted most important(non-vtec b16 made 225 wheel on 6 psi with just the t3/4 .50ar)

As soon as I find the spec of the turbo Ill post up. thanks for the help, just dont know a ton about this stuff but learning. I just dont want to have to go back and do things over, I like to do it once and make it right.
