Hey guys, so I have the opportunity to get major hook ups on any brands of rims I want. I'm buying them through a distributor, who sells them to dealers, etc. Meaning I'm going through the middle man before they come to the market. Anyways, I just wanted some thoughts on these rims, just because I can get them for about 500 dollars cheaper then the retail value on their website. I just don't want to release the brand names on these wheels yet, till I actually make a purchase :ohno:

I know wheels with mesh and polished rims, especially gold is played out! But hey, they look good. lol
Image

Wheel specs: 18x8.5F x 18x9.5R.
Offset : +38F and +35R with an approximate of a 2 inch machined polished lip front and a 4 inch machine polished lip rear.

My questions is really simple. Do you think these wheels are too small?

I really want 19's tbh, but tires are a killer. Plus the 19s he provides have really low offsets. The highest he has for any 19's that I want are about +20 with a 19x9.5-11 rear. I personally do not want any fender pulling. If possible I would avoid fender rolling. But if I have to I am willing to roll fenders. :werd:

If anyone could, could everyone with 18's post some pictures? Or if there is a thread with all 18's on our cars, could someone link me? I don't know what to put into the search bar. Sorry in advance.

But some serious input would be awesome! Ps: I have megan coils.

18's can look alright, but not with a lip like that. That step lip will make them look so much smaller.

18s aren't a bad option if you're going for a more functional setup and won't be running skinnies.

I think gold with your white coupe will look awesome. I have 18s and don't regret it, it all depends on the type of tires and sidewall strength.

Hmmmm! I have such mix feelings..... about to mount some 18's with a step lip. Gonna take pictures and show everyone how it looks. I feel like it's going to be small too. But then again alpha's doesnt look too bad.. and I'm a bit lower then he is..

Alpha, what tire size are you running on your current setup?

they'll definitely look small in 18s. i had 19s with the same style wheel and the wheel gap was a lot more noticeable compared to my OEM wheels. i obviously the tire is a different size (215/55/17 vs 235/40/19) but regardless, the step lip really does make a difference. you'll have to be fairly low on coils to have no gap between your tire and fender, although if you're going for a more daily-friendly setup then the 18s will be fine.

oh and check out achilles tires over at www.tires-easy.com.i picked up a set for those wheels for $486 shipped to my door. great summer tires, didn't have the wheels long enough to see how they held up in the rain but they had great grip and were super quiet.

That setup was:

18x8 +20(effective) 225/40/18
18x9 +12 (effective) 255/40/18

The tires were close to 1% smaller than stock diameter.

Yeah yours don't look small at all. I have 18 inch wheels, but they have no lip and people think they're 20's haha. I should have specified that the lip would make them look smaller when the lip is a different color from the rest of the wheel. With the right drop, tires, and offset I feel like those can look great on a white coupe though. A lip making the wheel look small seems to be most apparent on black wheels with a chrome lip.

considering i have been through about 8 different rims on my car both 18z & 19z.. I would honestly say that 19z are the best fitment for our cars. 18z are nice and more road friendly since you can have more rubber on the tires but its also how do you want your car to sit type of thing.. me personally i like the stance look for my car but to each is own..

& yes i totally agree that 19" tires are a B*tch & a half to deal with

So guys, my friend has an s2000 and he just bought linea corse lemans. 18x8.5F+38 and 18x9.5+35R. Pretty much a staggered setup. I went over to his house and mounted on his rear driver side rim and photoshopped it onto my front, because we were too lazy to mount his front to mine. Another reason why we didnt want to mount it also because my lug nut was too thick to fit the rim hole; therefore we had to twist it by hand and set my car down slowly.

But here are some pics of 18's on my car, rear wheel mounted and front wheel "chopped"

I still feel like they are small. If anything I will go 19's. I just wanted some serious opinions after seeing how my car sits.

I think it's sitting pretty clean, but 19s would make it look perfect. And get some spacers in there!

Yea, I'm really leaning towards 19's now. Tbh i love your stance, but I would have to go a tad higher for me to survive houston roads. Also I work in downtown, which has a lower elevation of land; aka flooding.

But any who. I got a great deal. Might pick up two sets of wheels, one being from EuroTEK bbs reps because of the very friendly/flushed fitment on our AC and another set from Avant Garde; which btw I hear is great! Because they are now collaborating with Works wheels, and the wheel distributer guy I'm buying from, is personal friends with that company/owner/classmate. So major discount! Let me know if anyone is interested, so I can inform and make deals.

Wheels I'm debating from Avant Garde:
