Hey guys! I'm looking to get a new car for the wife to replace my pos Mitsu lancer ES. Anyway, any recommendations on the new Altima? Is the CVT trans better than the new Mitsu Lancer CVT trans for example?? Any info on the new car would be great! (like what packages/options are good, waste of money, ect.)

Thanks for your help!!

hey i drove the mitsu lancer with the cvt, and it is crap, the one in the coupe is hugely better. and im my personal opinion, opting for the V6 is well worth it, the fuel economy isnt that much different but the driving impression is. as for the other options that all depends on how deep your pockets are. some people dont like the sat/nav but i personally think its sweet and the rearview camera that comes with it is pretty slick.

Great car. I test drove a few CVT transmissions, and this one is by far the best. Feels a lot smoother and pulls harder. Mine has given me no problems

With rising gas prices, for the wife, I would go, altima coupe 2.5s cvt with convenience package for around 20k

She actually learned on a standard...in Italy no less! I was stationed their when we were newlyweds and she had just got her license at the age of 18.

Taught her in a parking lot, and she drove home. Now she doesn't want to mess with it...

Uhuh, the CVT in the altima is by far the best CVT I have driven. The only other one I have driven though has been dodge/jeep CVT's, and those are HORRIBLE. Good luck with the choice, the new altima coupes are a fun car, even in 2.5!
