Pretty cool, but also really gay. If that thing were to stop working, or work improperly, you could get burnt badly if you don't check. Why not just wait longer than you think you should, and gauge temperature by feeling the hoses or end tanks.

this thing is full of fail

have you not opened the cap before after the car has been ran hard?

one time my fan relay failed and my car was overheating, I pulled to the side of the road and pull the cap off with a towel in total darkness.

This is an useless invention.

the only thing this functions as is a way to tell how hot the water is at the top of the radiator. However if you try to use this to tell what your engine coolant temp is you'll be butt soar, the proper place to get engine coolant temps is as close to the head as you possibly can, since Nissan has already taken care of that for you your all set.

just though it was a cool concept to add a simple gauge so that some of the guessing is elimated. not expecting anything uber amazing out of it just saying I think the idea was neat. I have burnt myself a small amount openning it as I get over zellous to open the plug and though it was kind of nice.

A tad on the useless side as you can always you can always wait an extra 5 mins but though it was a cool idea.
