If you are inferring that the monkey is supposed to be Barry, I didn't draw that conclusion at all until you mentioned that it was in bad taste.

When I saw the comic, I figured that they were implying a bunch of monkeys were writing the stimulus bill.

Exactly what I thought.

I heard about this last night, and how people were all outraged and what not...my question is if GWB was still president, would there still be the uproar? I think not...

Political cartoons can be put together much like a written article. That is, ideas are bounced around and roundtabled. I can't imagine noone at the publication couldn't see the potential for how it could be interpreted negatively. I'd contend it may have been purposeful.

Bush looks like a monkey and no one complained when people made the association. I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt because we all know BHO didn't write the stimulus.

BBC wrote:Wednesday's cartoon referred to a gruesome incident on Monday, when a pet chimp was shot in Stamford, Connecticut, after a serious and disfiguring attack on a friend of its owner.

The New York Post denied the cartoon chimp represented President Obama. The cartoon "is a clear parody of a current news event, to wit the shooting of a violent chimp in Connecticut. It broadly mocks Washington's efforts to revive the economy," said editor-in-chief Col Allen.

OWM got this one right. A chimp went nuts recently and was shot by police. Thats where the shot chimp cartoon joke came from.

It was a huge story(because Americans really care about... uh.....) that i saw the headlines to. They were stuck on MSNBC for a long damned time, a few different versions of the story. Redic

C- While i see your point, the Chimp story hit America like a storm. An editor realized im sure what he was printing, but figured that the majority would realize it was in reference to the recent incident that was widely viewed.
