I called IPT and they said that only the transmission valves would be needed to perform the modification. http://www.importperformancetrans.com/

I'd appreciate anyone's thoughts and advice about staging this with an service shop here in Scottsdale/North Phoenix.

There a way to swap valves for a temporary time until the originals are returned for installation from IPT? ...never done this before!

Interesting information.

Thanks for the post.

This might be a good vendor for us.

When tehy say transmission valves they mean the VALVE BODY... I dont know if they do cores, but generally they require you to send the VB out of YOUR trans. butthey have quick turnaround times.

you have lots of choices, not limited to IPT.

what symptoms does your trans have, and what are your goals and expectations.

i have modified my own valve body to correct for a lazy 2--3 shift.

burned clutches and shrunken o-rings can't be replaced with a vb kit, but you might be able to band-aid it.

Jay, what did you do to your VB?

QUICK HIJACK FOR JAY: Ive had my dropping resistor completely unplugged for the last few weeks, so far it seems fine, do you see any damage possibly being done, or do you think its OK?

installed the transgo s.c.k. (at least all the vb springs). ordered a new vb separator plate from IoS and drilled out a few selected orifices to increase pressure to the high clutch. installed bulk part shift solenoids (5)--not oem, but only $110 ish, vs. $300+ (no flames please, one of the very few non-oem parts on my car).

the old dropping resistor..... don't you get a malfunction in the message center that way? i found the 1--2 shifts too hard that way.

i'm running 32 ohms right now vs. the 14ish on the JECS part. best compromise for my driving.

i do get trans malfunction light but it doesnt come on every time and it goes away after a few seconds.. Certainly not bothersome... 1-2 is nice and crisp as is 2-3.. I wonder if my trans is more worn out..... Regardless it seems to be fine but im just hoping its not causing any more damage... It did help the trans not slip when it was in 4th gear with TC locked up.

sounds like youd to do a writeup on your mod... Any idea on the final cost?
