ive got a 91 240 sx se hatch and looking for a little more than stock replacement rotors and pads. this is my basic daily driver, alot of highway, so i dont need big amounts of bells and whistles. im leaning towards powerslot rotors and endless pads all around, but since im just looking for stock to a little more, would i be better off with brembo blanks and hawk pads instead? how are wear and tear on the above mentioned? experiences please

I'm using Brembo blanks and Hawk HPS pads along with ATE Super Blue fluid. Other than being a bit loud, I've got nothing but good things to say about the combo. Others have had no problems with noise on the HPS pads, so perhaps its the Brembo rotors. I bedded them properly and I've inspected the rotors for wear and they look fine.

So, a bit noisy, not very dusty, and I've never been able to get them to fade. I don't drive on the track, but I have driven some twisty roads and worked the brakes pretty hard, with no change in the feel of the brakes at all. Cold stops are fine too.

Had them for about 8 months. OE pads and mystery rotors before. Oh, I also added some stainless SPL brake lines and speed bleeders.

Im thinking I should pick up a set of those speed bleeders....I got the same set up and it works pretty good...I don't think you would really need the slotted especially if you only looking for some improvement. The pads are good cold, but better once they get a little heat. I don't think I have had them fade yet, but I usually don't do alot of hard braking for extended periods. I have gotten them pretty toasty a few time and they took it well.

Yeah, they make drilled, slotted and slotted/drilled. Just go to ebay and run a search... should run you about 150/set

I just wish they made a non slitted/drilled rotor. That drilled/slotted stuff is bling > funtionality.

I have powerslot drilled in the front, brembo blanks in the back, with greenstuff pads all arround. Along with my BFG KDWs, besides going arround a corner, stopping is the only thing I can do as good or better than my friends 350z.

Dont get the 'brembo' drilled and slotted. they are just blanks an aftermarket company drills and slots. they are very prone to breaking and just not a good idea.

^^^thats what I have always heard.......I really don't think you need to worry about getting anything more then blanks....unless you a dedicated canyon/track driver you should be good with some decent fluid, street/ track style pads and some blank rotors

I have warped 2 sets of powerslot rotors before in a 18month period. In a little over 6 months my friend has also went through a set of powerslot rotors in his DSM and went back to cheap autozone replacements. So far my Brembo drilled rotor have taken alot of abuse and so far so good. I don't trust powerslot anymore.
