Thought it was the fuel pump

Just changed the fuel pump and relays in my qx4 and it still won't crank. It hesitated on 1st start then started and died. I replicated the same then it completely stopped. My unprofessional diagnostic was the fuel pump because I've had similar experiences with another vehicle. I swapped fuel pumps and checked relays and all fuses....yes I know about 2 relays and both 15 amp fuses. Any other ideas before I pay a tow Bill? Any help much appreciated.

I believe a faulty crank position sensor could cause a no start condition, are you getting a check engine light?

Yeah get an ODBII scanner on it and see whats happening there before throwing money at it
