Thought I would add my Z to the NICO collection

I'm not new to NICO or the Z world for that matter but I figure since I have my 240SX on here I might as well have my Z.

It's a 1977 280Z.To much to really write about, so I'll just post a link here to my build thread on a local forum that I'm apart of http://desertdatsuns.freeforums.org/reb ... -t595.html. Well here are some pics

For now she will remain the way she is, until I can afford a full repaint. I'm a function>Form kind of guy

Exactly! One reason why I'll be doing an L28ET swap, don't get me wrong my n/a motor is great but nothing can beat a motor with a little snail attached

Did some updating to the Z, welded up the holes on the doors and hatch. And today I'm hoping I can get my exhaust chopped up and remade into a side pipe the exits just under the driver door. Anybody who owns an S30 Z with no weatherstripping on the hatch can tell you just how bad it is with exhaust fumes getting into the cab. Because the S30 is so flat in the back fumes tend to get trapped in a vortex then slowly make their way into the cab which sucks! And for me this is the simplest way of fixing the problem and it's being done by a real good friend. Check out my thread for more updates - http://desertdatsuns.freeforums.org/reb ... -t595.html

Small update. I'm in the process of installing a KA throttle body and might even go as far as adding a custom fuel rail.
Check it out! Also got me some electric fans for the radiator



Now for the engine upgrade But first I must remove the intake manifold

Here's what I'll be installing. I have the KA TB mocked up on my spare IM


Just look at the size difference


As you can see, I got quite a bit of material to remove


But before I can use the TB, I have to get rid of the cruise control bracket thingy. Nothing a few spacers can't take care of

Here is a much needed update
I got me an L28ET!

The motor in it's original state, DIRTY it is :lol:


The T3 turbo it may be small but it will suffice for now




I got a lot of stuff to remove


Removed a few parts


Intake manifold = no good


Here's a look under the valve cover, talk about clean!


Where is the wear on the cam???


Turbo manifold removed, needs a good cleaning


Seems the turbine is in good shape
