Simply put, do they have bubbles or wrinkles in them once on the tail light? A friend of mine had his done by a tint shop which didn't use any soapy water ect for the application. The simply peeled it and started trying to stretch it over the light. Thanks for the info.

Virtually no bubbles or wrinkles, only wrinkles in very small areas where things were tight.

IMHO - No Heat Gun + No Soapy Water = Crappy Overlay Application (Unless, of course, you're a god).

I installed Bat's Overlays on mine. The headlight installed easily but the tail lights are a pain the A$$! Needless to say I messed it up and need to re-order another set from Bat.

Went to a store for rear overlays installation and it turned out perfect UNTIL I looked after a couple days and in a couple spots it peeled back around the edges. I have some minor defects but overall it still looks good to me so I can live with it.

I need a second set too

Bat, I see you live in San Diego. Would you be down for installing these on my car? I don't trust me bubbling them again...

yep, he's here in San Diego... they have meets every other thursday around the city... i usually can't make them with the baby and all... Bat's wife must be much more understanding than mine...

in any case, you know I gotcha if you come down to San Diego and wanna relax before heading back to Camarillo... drinks on me Blake!

Oh yeah, and regardless of what anyone says... the taillight overlays for the Altima coupe and Sedan CAN NOT be put on by a first timer! Its too difficult, and takes wayyy too much time and patience, and that's if you've done a few dozen or so. Bat's installer did mine, and its as close to perfect as I imagine it could be... very small wrinkles on the side of the light, but I think even those could be remedied with a hair dryer, and needle, and some know how!

Right on. I will probably time it together with the other install we have been talking about

So very true. Believe me, Ive accomplished many many automotive projects before and they are usually pretty straight forward. However with the stretching of viynl, its a totally different ball game. Its a knack you aquire with repetivity. If I had the chance to do it over again. I would take it to my tint shop

Tried it myself twice and couldn't do it. Went to every tint installer in my area and only one would try it. He couldn't do it. I'm considering having them painted.

Hey Bat. Where in Queens and where in Jersey? Also how much do they charge to install. I've had your GTR tail overlays for about 3 weeks now just sitting in my trunk waiting to be put on, lol.

Don't be hating on bluebat for doing a bad job on installation The overlays we get are quality but if we goof the install ( like i did too ) then we have only ourselves to blame.

only blaming him for sending me sedan taillights, but bluebat is a very cool guy, actually talked to him on the phone. just getting frustrated on the 2nd taillight i'm working on, taking me forever, but patience is a virtue right?

yea, the overlays are very great quality, i would buy them again for another car and recommend them to anyone and everyone.

bluebat overlays i give

+1 and blackmobile doesnt even have bats overlays! he has LBC ones..

Regardless, your in cali.. your best bet would be to swing by one of bats trusted installers out there, experience helps out a lot regardless of which overlays you choose!
