crap...I'm having a hard time remembering. I can't get to my car right now...but I will look at mine after work and let you know.

FYI... beancooker put his in recently and it turns out...they muffed up the rubber stripping and sent him a new ones. That could be what you are experiencing as well. damn manufacturers!!

Your rubber looks like it was cut correctly. I just have bad luck like that.

They offered to send me new rubber, but I said no, since it would already be installed. Nothing that a little "Red Hot Vinyl Glue" didn't fix. I just re-cut them after I sealed the improper cuts.

Like Joe said, just slide it down a little. I had to trim a little off of mine as well. Was cut a little long, but that was better than too short.

Great information........what Im actually referring to is the piece on the left(in the pic Joe modified) The rubber looks as if it lays the wrong way, is the majority suppose to stick outwards, or inwards.

Thanks though, I will slide the loner piece to the right more

It looks ok...try to judge from these pics. It should be facing towards the hole...in.

Doesn't do a whole lot of good anyway

Thanks for your help.......and WoW !!! Im just pissed I didnt buy this 2 months ago ! Totally different car now, awesome unbelievable sound !I got one question for you.....Did you connect the Z-tube directly to the throttle body ? or did you leave the small rubber hose there, and connect to it ? My filter doesnt seem as low as yours in the picture, which is why I was asking. (see what I mean in the last picture)

just couldnt wait !

The Z-tube is directly connected to the TB. By the looks of your pics, I think the foam on the top portion is backwards...the foam should be on top of the shield, not underneath it.

The position does seem to be a little back...maybe you choked the TB too much?? I wouldn't worry, we're only talking about less than an inch.

Congrats on your mod! Now get a spacer and exhaust in that mofo!

I bought the Stillen Z-tube, and if you don't use the rubber connector, it looks like it'll be too short. Stillen's instructions say to use it, but I'll be double checking it again tomorrow.

I thought the Stillen Z-tube was the same as OEM?

Here are some pics. If I don't use the stock rubber, the intake will be too short IMO.

Are these relatively easy to install? Im looking at getting either the NISMO intake or the JWT with Z Tube. How long did it take you to install? Any noticeable acceleration increase?

Maybe i'll just buy it and get my service centre to install.

After you put the rubber on the JWT heat shield, it takes about 15-20 min to install.
