Cabin vents so that when you push air into the cabin (i.e., non-circulating air from the fan/AC), slam a door closed, or if the car interior gets excessively hot, the air pressure can exhaust through them.
Pretty standard automotive tech. Usually there's an interior vent that has some flaps on it that otherwise keep the vent closed. Perhaps most noticeable on pickup trucks...if you look somewhere between the back of the cab and the truck bed, you'll probably see a plastic vent with flaps...close the door quickly and you'll see the flaps lift briefly. For other cars and SUVs it's less noticeable since the vents are generally hidden in trunk gaps or pillars.
