I found a wolf spider a little larger than that on my parents front lawn one time. I put it in a box, took it around and showed it to the family then returned it to the wild.

I'd be completely screwed if I was an arachnophobe. We have tons of spiders at work, including plenty of black widows, I definitely kill those bastards.

Blue Mountain Sydney Funnel Web, huge fangs, very poisonous, highly aggressive. I'm told they don't make good pets.

And since we have this sweet thread about big spiders, we need what's thought to be the worst bite out of all the poisonous arachnids, the Brazilian Wandering Spider (also refered to as the banana spider.)

Image

Image

Image

Bite: Life threatening, highly toxic venom (one of the most neurologically active), and is regarded as among the most dangerous spiders in the world. May hitch a ride in clusters of bananas and has been found in the United States. Many bites are dry bites. One of the most excruciating of all spider bites because of the large size of the chelicerae (fangs) and high levels of serotonin contained in the venom.

Symptoms:

* Loss of muscle control, and breathing problems, resulting in paralysis and eventual asphyxiation.
* Causes intense pain and inflammation
* Extremely painful bite and immediate pain.
* Heavy perspiration and drooling
* Priapism

Treatment:

* Seek medical attention immediately.
* Keep the patient calm and quiet to avoid spreading the venom.
* An antivenin is available for the bite.

Wait, is that true? If so, that's just rude.

I don't know that I've ever had a painful orgasm. And that's usually about the time when my erectlon goes away. So two out of five (and that's if you don't count paralysis/asphyxiation - wait, never mind the asphyxiation part)? I hardly call that "damned close". You might want to see a doctor if you're experiencing more than two. I'm pretty sure that's not right.

that's why i said "not quite"

loss of muscle control, breathing problems (out of breath), paralysis (sleepy time), heavy perspiration, drooling, and i'm usually up for another round or two, if the first one didn't last too long. so yeah, aside from pain, swelling, and asphyxiation, i'd say it's pretty close.

Yeah the wandering spider is one of the few arachnids to attack humans for reasons other than self defense. And they're FAST too...like 10mph fast.

I don't think its a wolf spider. more likely to be Brown Recluse (Which can F you up) or Brown huntsman spider(usually flees when larger creatures approach).
