They may want to keep their heritage as that is what defines them but to self-impose a label on themselves? Think about it first.
I remember the first time I mentioned Savage in this forum, and I think it was the first time he was ever mentioned here, and I got chased after haha. Now I see him mentioned more and more.
They keep their heritage by being who they are and passing on what they know to later generations. And later generations are always going to be curious about who they are where they came from. History will never die. Hell, I'm Irish-German all the way back in my family. I've studied up on both sides. If the next generation has little to no interest in their heritage that's on them.
Do away with all of the inequalities and social programs we have built into our democracy and we'll make things equal. College funds for minorities should be gone, special permanent welfare considerations should be gone, affirmative action should be gone...remove the labels! Remove the option for other languages in manuals and on our phone lines! Remove the labels! Do not separate the census by race anymore, just gender. Do away with the boxes on all applications that label what race you are. America is a melting pot. Let it be so.
I thought people moved to America for a new start, a new beginning, a new life...new opportunity. That's why this great country was created. Not to reap the rewards of capitalism and cling desperately to your past.
I've been a Savage fan for years btw. I do not agree with everything he says, mainly the cannabis legalization part. But on the truly important stuff regarding liberty, nation and security, he basically speaks for me.
