Well i've just got my Tanabe lowering springs installed recently(this last weekend) and while im cruising around today, i hit this deeeeep pothole and i noticed the ride felt different then it did. So i call up my friend who works over at toyota and he checks the car out for me and finally he found out the problem. In the front right springs there was oil leaking from a tube and theres a bolt thats damaged so now i gotta replace everything! He says the car should be fine to drive around but i just have to be aware of potholes and whatnot. My first major problem with the versa ever since my accident back in Jan. By the way, did anybody ever have this problem ????

(^^Hows this pic??)

You blew out your strut and bent the sway bar attachment bolt. To be expected with this setup

The car is cursed. The shop called and said there is hidden damages to my car they didnt see when they gave the estimate. So they are trying to get the insurance back out to cover the rest. Not only that but its going to even take longer then previously quoted.

So all i can say is hang in there and learn from your mistakes.

its a funny thing that you mention the car is cursed lol cause once my dad bought me this car as a present, alot of bad things would happen to me but then the bad luck went away, and now its back i guess

I'm just curious if after you installed your springs you had your wheels realigned etc...

just seems to me that technically if you lower your car and yes I'm pretty sure we talked a little bit about this before....that your camber would be off which sounds to me like a reason why a strut blew out.

I admit I know nothing about cars...really...but sounds like a possibility to me

Camber would have bascially nothing to do with the shocks. The shocks would blow due to the extra stress of a lowered car and bottoming out.
