You should change your oil more often. You are operating your car under extreme conditons. That little mileage with the commenserate sitting is hard on the engine. Change every 3 months or 3000-4000 miles.

I also plan on doing an engine flush procedure, along with a rail flush.....

Looks like I get a trip to the infiniti dealer...... Do you think a nissan dealer would have that stuff (since theres one in town, no infiniti dealer here...)

Call Tom Mackin of Northwest Envirolution, Inc. and he will tell you where the nearest facility is, and will ensure that they have the correct adapters to service your engine. If it is an Nissan dealer, you are probably alright, but call first to confirm.

Infiniti of Kirkland uses their machine for the coolant system flush also.

Man, you need to drive more! I've had my 92 Q just as long and racked up 12k (now humming along at 181k). Then again, wherever I live its always a long drive to go anywhere. I live in my car.

A term, applied to any proceudre designed to clean out lubricated areas from oil sludge and/or varnish.

Some very different procedures can be called "flush" from a simple "throwing in a can od CD2" to hooiking up a machine running detergettns thru the oil galleries.

Fred..:)

2k per oil change is pretty good Wes. You can go 6k with synthetic easy.

You can go 10K miles, but should you? There are some great posts on this board about oil chemistry and use parameters. Might try a search.__________________Brian1995 Q45 & Q45t & 2000 Q45

In terms of oil change durations, etc., I strongly recommend that everybody get hold of, and read, the book that I mention in this thread:

That's cool - did you have the Q floored or what - purring along at 50mph and the tach is at almost 4k? I just turned 63k - can't wait to get to 123456.

No, I just thought id liven the situation up a little...... No mashing, I was in a 40 zone.....

If it would have happened sooner, I could have gotten one of it at the redline......
