this is really confusing. are you asking if you swap in the sr20 with an auto trans with the wiring just mate up to it directly? or if you have a manual and want to go to and auto or you have an auto and want to go to a manual???? so freaking confused

oh ya im not positive, but im sure its really similar if not the same. you may not be able to find a wiring guide. dont think many people do an auto trans with the sr20. sorry im not more help.

at least its clearer now for someone that might be able to help more.

Probably the same trans with maybe different gearing.

It seems like it would be a relativity smooth swap if you have the SR Auto ecu.

Just search for FSMs. get the SR20 S13 one and a KA S13 one. I am pretty sure they are on here somewhere.

C'mon man... don't bust his balls. If he doesn't want 5spd, then he doesn't want 5spd...

I have the ecu from the auto sr so i'm sure it is just a matter of switching out the connectors but i'd like to make sure

Heres what i can tell ya. I have an auto sr20 but i had a shop install it. the trannys are the same RE4R01A the difference is that the sr has a higher stall torque converter. fillers and gaskets are the same for servicing. Theres is a good chance that your tcu will run the sr transmission. i would do a physical comparison when you pull them and check to see if all the wiring matches up.On mine they used the tcu that came with the sr and since I didn't wire it I can't help you much there.

I know now why the auto trans swaps are so cheap.
