Nprobe is out for consult diagnostics

Zcontrol is also out for editing EPROMS, with a little persuasion I'm sure any open source developer can modify it to edit SR maps etc.

The 300 degree package rocks. But i definately am not looking to pay 500 bucks for it. Too bad there is no trial run on the software.

What ECU is this hack for? The Z32 hack is pretty common and most of the diagnostics portion of it carries over. For the 240SX ECUs, I believe there are an extra set of unused solder connectors on the board that you have to attach a daughterboard containing an EPROM to. Hopefully you've got the schematics for that daughterboard. That's the tough part and the real missing link to hacking the 240SX ECU. Without it, there's no place to store ECU modifications onboard, I believe.

Maybe someday somebody will reverse engineer a JWT modded 240SX ECU for us and post the details. Hint, hint fellas. From there, programming isn't all that difficult.

Here's some links to the Z32 ECU hacking sites:

the 240sx doesnt need a daughter board, just replace the eprom.i have already looked at all the info that you guys have provided (thanks), but i stiull cant find what im looking for. i have a rom, i know how to modify the data and what it does, i just dont know where in the rom it is.if i only had the addresses.AAAAHHHH!!!

oh and here is all the stuff for the consult interface (PC to ECU)http://www.users.bigpond.com/webspace/plms/

Cool, now make it work for the KA24DE ECUs. I have both of my S13 and S14 ECUs open right now and don't see a damn thing that looks like a 28 pin EPROM. I'm still thinking a daugherboard is necessary.

i know im pretty new on these forums and new to a 240sx (5 days now i've owned one) BUT the thing is ive been going to school for electrical engineering for 4 years.. im still in high school but what your talking about doesn't seem too hard to do... although i do have access to a $10,000 chip reader/programmer... i don't have plans to upgrade my ECU yet but when i do im sure to open mine up and play with the chips in the school programmer... if any of you have a broken ECU laying around some where doing nothing but collecting dust and want to send me the chip i'll open it up and see what i can come up with

on the boost cruising site, the zip files that supposedly contain address files is just a copy of the binarys. that sucks.

dur computer geeks, send useful schematics and not links PLEASE. I can handele assembly if needed (its all i know) and what i really need is how to bypass the speed limiter and rev limiter with out large companies like JWT getting in the way for $500. Thanx no offense intended.

Would you be able to open the ECU up and send me the chip? it shouldn't be much for S/H on just the chip.. that is if you want to

Im not to sure how you how far you guys are actually along into this, Im am new to the idea of reprograming the ecu....do you have an address file for the KA or is that what you are in need of.

well yes and no, the addresses seem diffrent for the ka, and it looks like alot of the tables are not used or are diffrentwe are still trying to figure out how it all works

what language did you write that asm file in? i opened it up and i know assembly language and c++ and all those good things i just didn't recognize any thing you wrote...

it is assembly, hitachi 6303 assembly. the ka24e's ecu has a hitachi hd63b03y (6303) as the mpu, so thats what the code is written in. the lst file has the asm code with memory address headers, so you cant compile it, its just to look at. to generate a compilable code "dasmx -a -t ka.bin". make sure the sym file is in that directory so dasmx knows where everything is.
