Does anyone know where to actually get an oem ca18det flywheel? I see the ka ones at autozone for 89$$$$$$$ WTF!??!?!
I want a stock ca18det flywheel for that cheap! I've been to frsport and so and so fourth but I have yet to see one. Not to sure about those f1 racing versions either... Any ideas? (I did google it a few time but everything that turned up had like old websites that didn't work anymore)

AFAIK, you can't get a stock DET flywheel from anything in the US. If you CAN get one, it would be from an S12 200sx, turbo. 84-88 IIRC. That engine is a CA18ET and would be your best chance at having something match up. I would do a side-by-side comparison before you bought one though.

You know Float, that's kinda what I was thinking, now I'm kicking myself for selling my S12. You know the worst part?
Someone got a free freshly rebuilt Ca18et with it. Probably the worst decision I ever made. I bought it for $200 started doing everything to get it running again. Dumped $1,500 into getting new pistons all the machine work metal headgasket arp studs n all. The oil filter housing after taking it to the machine shop was lost. I was like 18 when I took this project on. Then halfway through the build I ended up moving to Utah for about 2 months for some work in the oil fields when I got back my car and engine were gone lol. My buddy had ended up moving and was not able to get ahold of me so he GAVE the car away to some guy(title was in the glovebox)!!!! So yes I would love to have it again to compare flywheels. You think maybe I should ask around clubs12? I haven't been on their forum probably since I lost the s12 but maybe someone might have tried this before with them? I'll give it a shot and find out. Thanks for responding, I kinda had that in mind but I wasn't sure if it was even a possibility. :mike

SOHC flywheel won't work, it's a 6 bolt.

Man bummer, but thanks for the answer glad I didn't decide to go out and buy one for the ET and try it. So looks like Spec or the F1 chomoly, even though they are not super reputable, I think I can trust them to make a decent flywheel! They are the only ones I've seen with a chromoly version too. Everyone else is aluminum and F that lol.

Or if you ever wanted a stocker, I have two cheery ones around here somewhere. I run all aftermarket flywheels in my whips including one from ebay that hasn't shattered under 20+psi clutch dumping from a GT35R and it has not faltered. So far ,8k miles and still going.

Cool thanks Dee, which one did you get off ebay? I am thinking about the chromoly F1 version. Figure it should mate up to the act 6 puck I have ready for it. The reason I want the chromoly one is because it's a 1piece and I don't have to worry about it coming apart. Glad to now the one you have has been working out well. Out of curiosity how much would you want for one of the oem ones you have?
