Seen that stuff before...still don't understand how people can clean their chain with the bike running in gear. I've sprayed lube on the chain while it's running in gear, but I wipe it down with it off or in neutral.

For anyone on that other board that doesn't have any empathy for this guy, you should grow some manners. Everyone has done plenty of 'tarded things in their life, the last thing they probably need to hear is how much they deserved it.

2 months ago I was pushing a friend in a shopping cart after drinking with my room-mate, my room-mate slipped, shopping cart fell backwards, I forgot to let go, and my fingers got dragged 5 feet through a crosswalk. I've got pictures up here but no where near this bad. Ring finger on my left hand will only flex at one knuckle now.

Other choice moments include working my way off a roof when I was 17, fell 20 feet onto my upper back and neck, managed to escape with a broken arm and a couple compressed vertebrae.Other major one when I was 12 was trying to pull a stick out of my bicycle spokes without slowing down, hand got sucked in, hit the fork, flipped straight over and absorbed the entire impact on one front tooth, that went 1/2 inch up into my jaw. Didn't even scratch my face, despite landing on pavement.

Exactly. Some of us actually know how to laugh at ourselves. And we know how to let others laugh with us. It certainly makes the pain easier to accept knowing someone at least got some amusement out of it.

Once I made the mistake of trying to stop a spinning wheel made from particle board with my hand. "Sliver" is not an adequate term. Effing CHUNKS of wood embedded themselves in my palm. When people laughed, I accepted that that was a very Stupid Thing to Do and laughed with them. When I wasn't busy cursing, anyway.Actually, I realized it was a Stupid Thing to Do about a millisecond after it was too late to withdraw my hand. I imagine a similar thing happened to mister bloody knuckles here.

It would be the down-right lack of total empathy that bothers me, case in point, my Korean ex-gf (and you guys can weigh in on whether this is normal behavior) watched Schindler's List with me, and spent most of the film snickering or making smarmy comments.

We had a couple of recent police shootings here in WA. One cop was killed when somebody fired an automatic rifle into their patrol car while they were just sitting on the side of the road, the officer got hit enough times in the face they had a closed casket funeral, the partner was a trainee with 2 months in. The 2nd one was in Lakewood, guy walked into a coffee shop at 6am and shot 4 cops, he later got shot during a traffic stop, and when I told her about it, her reply was "Well, they are corrupt and deserved to get shot."

And for the record, there are approx ZERO grains of sand in my vagina.

There is no connection between being insensitive towards cops and Jews getting murdered, and losing ones finger-tips. My tendency is to have a bit more of an emotional response than normal to anything bad that happens to people. In my own defense, my moms died of cancer while I was in high school, and I had Yorkie with the ex that died on its first birthday from an immune disease, so trauma elicits different reactions for me than most others. Me getting my fingers crushed because a shopping cart fell over backwards and we were stupid enough to put someone in the cart is pretty funny IMO, no matter who it happened to I would laugh when I heard it. For some reason I just didn't think of laughing when I read about the guy getting the tips crushed in a gear sprocket, but probably cause it looked so freaking painful.

And yes, my ex is evil. Solid to the core. Cold-hearted was one reason we broke up, along with spiteful, the tendency to break and throw things, claiming to send the Korean mafia after me, I had to move to a different 'hood and not tell her my new address it got so bad. Absolutely incredible in bed but that doesn't make up for much. Most of the Korean girls I have met have been pretty chill, but for some reason I have a lot of friends that had horrible experiences. I tend to now use Schindler's List as a litmus test for anyone I date. If it doesn't elicit some sort of emotional response that could be associated with compassion, then that person is clearly FUBAR.
