- MR2 torque is 140- 240 torque is 160
- MR2 compression is 8.0- 240 compression is 9.5
- MR2 engine is a 1.6L- 240 engine is a 2.4L
- both rear wheel drive
these are figures from a SC Mr2 between 1986 and 1989, and my 1992 240sx. i am right, dustin is wrong. my 240sx is faster than any stock 86-89 MR2 on a 1/4, and i've proved it twice. i would surely lose against almost any roadster in a slalom, but thats a slalom.im not knocking on the MR2, hell i almost bought one i like them so much.

I agree with most of your post... but the 240sx with the SR20DET has a nearly perfect 50/50 from what I have read. Even with the KA it's still a pretty respectable weight distribution. There is little doubt though.. that the MR2 has much better skid pad numbers.AZhitman wrote:. Don't even think of running a road course against one - That's where it really shines. While it's not "the ultimate street machine", it'll run the slaloms far quicker than a 240.

Maybe you shoudl reread your first post and mine as well. You asked which we thought was better. Then in my first post I gave my reply that as bone stock; an mr2, and modified; a 240 (w/ turbo or motorswap of some sort). Never did I glorify a mk1 to be a 500hp monster like car. It's that simple. As far as you being able to beat grandma in an mr2 I happy for you. Thats a good kill. I'm glad to see you race professionals.Finally, I wasnt kidding about an mr2 being easy to work on. Granted a 240 is even easier, but an mr2 is still easy whether you like it or not. Try working on a mrk4 supra or a 300zx tt. They are a** tight, with basically no room. There are loads of cars that are 100 times more difficult to work on than a 1.6L toyota. Just becuase its in the middle doesnt mean there isnt room, cuase there is plenty.

i missed your dumb post about compression displacement and weight. Your a moron. A stock mr2 runs a 15.0 1/4. S13 runs a 16.3. It's been proven by the manufactures and about every car magazine that came out late 80's early 90's. the sc mr2 comes stock with a limited slip as well as weight over the wheels. It gets way better traction and has similiar power yet weighs less. Thats why it would smoke your pos s13.
