94 Q45, 80Kmi.

Engine up to temp, then on to adjusting the TPS.

I set the throttle, and position the switch to the fully closed position (idle) w/ ohm meter...(ON-OFF point)

I have a voltage reading of .18v...

Now, to get to the .40v as in the FSM, I have to rotate the TPS which brings it OFF the idle switch position I just set...? Makes that adjustment meaningless.

Whats the point of even having an "Idle ON- OFF position" if you can't make the voltage without taking it out of the "ON-OFF" position?

The only thing I can think of is the TPS has gone South...(like the Bama offense) :-) Going from .4v (closed) to WOT, only brings 3.5v tops. Using the pedal (to the floor) gets even less, about 3.2v.

Can't even get close to the 5.0v WOT.

If you look in the EF-EC section this is how it says to do it... I might try doing the engine speed check switch thing and see what that gives you.....

I think its better to set it with resistance or the switching thing rather than using the volts, because its not going to be the same as what the consult says.

Glad you included the part about warming the engine! I tried to adjust my throttle cables for "faster response" once before warming the engine. So after the fast idle cam dropped out, the throttle body wouldn't close all the way.

Good luck with the adjustment!

OK, using 2 meters,

I now have the TPS set @

N.C. on idle position.

6.5kohms on idle position. 4.9 WOT.

0.35v at idle from TPS to transmission control, pins 34, 35.

So, to hell with it.

Got a 60mi drive tomorrow, we'll see.

The range should be about .4v to 4.7v max.

You will never see full ref voltage at the TPS.

Jeeze, trying to set 3 paramaters at the same time, with only one method of adjustment, is a PITA.

I'm leavin it.

Just checked timming and it's @ 25deg.! Whoa Nelly!

I hope I'm using the right wire...:-)
