Some may get lucky and get one that is clean(er), but mine apparently saw a lot of salt and rust. I flushed and cleaned the entire cooling system...New WP installed!

Mine still looks brand new, but recently the seals went out... about 80k miles later. Lol
That's pretty nasty though.

I usually recommend for people to remove and at least inspect the pump before swapping in the engine.

At least doing the water pump on a rwd sr is easy.

true, it would be a very easy job replacing it in the car..I almost didn't even check it; so glad I did!
