So I was just doing some late nite driving and after some fun driving around with my roommates new s2000, we were just driving around our neighborhood and attacking some corners we uslually do. Tonight though, the sprinklers were on and on a straightaway after one corner my car just started to lose control and i hit the curb...HARD! The rear axle (hopefully nothing more) on the passenger side is wasted. I have a question about the rear axles, so are the rear axles consisted of two parts (drivers and passengers) and would i just have to replace the passenger side rear axle? What other parts should i check for damage? Does anyone have an extra axle for an open diff '90 s13 or want to help a fool out in Irvine (SoCal).

Hoping my baby will forgive me,Justin

p.s. Feelin extra moded since some long awaited parts came in yesterday and was ready to install new hotshot headers, high flow cat, and BRM exhaust after i went home for winter break.

The axles do separate from the diff, but I'd get the entire rear subframe and all rear links checked for bent/broken.

No kind of hard hit like that affects only one part.

some are 5 bolt axles and some are 6 bolt. make sure which one you have before you get one.

All 240sx axles are 6 bolt.

S14 axles are a little bit longer, but probably swap right in.

You should check all of the suspension members for cracks and bends..

if you hit the curb and snapped an axle, you definitely bent some, if not all, of the linkage arms. Did you drive it home?!

The rear frame is probably ok. All of the link bars are trash I would guess. The front frame is probably slightly bent. Up front you'll need all new bars as well sounds like, including the Lower control Arm.

Like SmithSR said find a complete rear subframe. You probably bent some stuff you haven't seen yet. It will probably be cheaper to find a complete subframe then to buy misc rear suspension parts. I have seen this happen several times and have been there my self in my old 240.
