In my class today one of my students (11 y/o girl) came to my desk and asked what the word "pwn't" meant. I started loling and tried explaining it to her. I told her how it came from the word "owned" and she was wondering how the hell you could get the word "pwn't" from the word "owned". So I tried explaining. Hope I got it right.

LOL! Nice.

Just in case you don't know:Reality is much simpler.P is next to O on the keyboard. PC Gamers type with one hand, so mistakes are made.

Otherwise, ignore previous words.

I know where the word came from but I didn't want to get into the detailed lives of online gamers. . . I mean she is after all 11 years old and wouldn't even understand that s***. LOL

That's gold, but really I would have asked if anyone in the class would like to explain it and see how many of them raised their hands. The fact that an 11 y/o doesn't know was Pwn't is is just hysterical, I hear 8y/o on COD:MW2 use it almost daily... that and Rape-age, which is just disturbing on it's own.

I'm homeschooling family and relatives and these kids don't know crap about gaming. They've been quite sheltered.

Which equates to them not being able to properly adjust to the real world.

Be that as it may. Opinions are opinions and I'm not here to start a debate on how to raise kids the best.

Just enjoy the humor. That's all.

No, in Modern Warfare 2 they included throwing knives. That's what he threw. That really is a 1 in a million shot.

I love the fact that she came up to you and asked what it meant. lawl, I wonder how she heard it.

The fact that the throwing knife kill was the game winning kill is a 1 in a Billion shot, I would have loved to have heard the chatter in the lobby after that match.

The unedited video of it has the post game chatter. Bunch of people calling B.S. The person said he thought he has frags and was going to throw one over the house. Lucky throw. Kinda like the people that run around with the RPG and shoot rockets at random places. Then BOOM you're dead. Same thing with the "NOOB Tube" Shiit Irratates me.
