Sweet! I think if I were coasting down hill, in neutral, my car *might* get that kind of mileage.

Shhh...quit giving away my secrets haha....actually it wasn't all downhill...but i built up enough speed going down hills that i made it up all the uphills with no problems...it's quite embarrassing for the camry i was following. I had to tap the breaks on the uphills while in nuetral b/c i was catchin up...sigh

Focused:

LOL, however the correct way to measure MPG is to divide total miles traveled by the number of gallons used.

For the month of May 2008, I traveled 1806 miles and used 90.328 gallons of regular 87 octane that gives me an average of 19.9938 MPG and cost me $324.31. I will cross the 60k mile mark during the month of June.Cheers

Telcoman, (I forgot), but do you do mainly city driving? HW driving? or a mix?? Based on your MPG of 19.99999, I'm hoping that's city driving.just curious...

Lots of traffic, stops and starts around town reduce mileage. On trips to Florida I've gotten over 28 MPG on a few tankfuls. At work, I cover a couple of buildings a mile apart & that kills my MPG. My commute is 100 miles per day. With no traffic tieups I get over 24 MPG. All regular of course

Just received the July issue of Consumer Reports. See page 48 for the article titled "Paying for Premium Gas can be a waste of money" if you have it.

We actually test drove an 06 M35X. I didn't really care for it as much as my wife did. Also, looked at a silver 07 G35C, but it would be more than I would want to do. We have determined that the wife prefers the seats in the 04-07 coupes ONLY if they have the prem. package. Evidently, the bolsters on the backs are slightly different. Thinking about trading her 05 for a coupe and selling the cobra to bet back to having only 2 cars. Son is now in driver's ed, so we might be getting another car in the future for him.

SO, I go back and forth between a coupe and a G35X.....Daughter will be in the mountains this fall for college and they get snow. Would like to know I could get to her at any time - G35X.......If I get rid of the cobra, would like another coupe - G35C......OH, and yes, I have a well diversified 401K plus numerous insurance policies!!!

Back to prem. vs reg.....Our 05 AT G35S's both PING on 87, so REGULAR is OUT for us.I might try the middle grade, & if so, I'll let you know how it goes.

IMHO, the reason you get by with 87 is because it's a MT. I could get away with lower grade in my MT Pathy, but could not with my AT Pathy - it PINGed. Plus, sounds like you do not drive it like you stole it.(I assume you know PING=Damage)

I don't think our G's could get that kind of mileage if they were on a flat bed tow truck going down a mountain!

But here is a good way to get good mileage...

"Take one Toyota Prius. Remove badges. Add G badges. Presto, instant fuel mileage." ~audtatous

I really like this one!
