so what, if it pisses you off that much, write your congressman. the government spends lots of money on useless stuff, want to end it? start going to meetings, run for a board position, vote, etc. there's lots of ways to effectively voice your opinion on matters such as these instead of expressing your anger over a "wasted" car on an internet forum.

my school cut music programs, then replaced perfectly good TV's in the hallways with massive flat screen plasmas.

It just has a GM logo on it. Is there really a ZR1 police car?

Umm. You do realize that the car was some drug lords car and was repossesed and seized by the police. When he drug guy was found guilty, free car!!

I think its pretty damned awesome that the police reuse those awesome cars as a show of what happens to criminals and their property.

The war on drugs needs to end. Police should be paid more, but they shouldn't be allowed to profit from seizing drugs.

Sell the car to pay for street lighting and more patrolling to reduce crime.

Yeah but they keep these cars so the bungholes who decide to rip around at 150 can't outrun the cops. Can you think of a better highway interceptor that is not a supercar? I've had a run in with this one myself.

They do that. They auction off most seized property for the coffers however when it comes to one or two large image cars, they keep them. Its a pretty big slap in the face of a criminal when they and their buddies see their prize possession now being used as a cop car.

When you're getting shanked and raped in the butt, feeling offended about a car you no longer own and can't drive is pretty minor. Its about as effective at preventing crime as saying "You're so silly, cut that out!" to a rapist.

But its stilll in the back of other cirminals minds. "Hmmm, I see that Leroy's car is now being used as a Dare car. I better be more careful the next time I sell a few thousand quaaludes to someone."

Its an image thing. The kids can identify with the cars and so on. They didn't pay much for the car at all and its great PR for the police dept. Kids can identify with the cars.

No, its not.

The ones on the outside are worried about getting pounded in the butt. One of Sean's groomsmen at the wedding is a prison guard. I heard lots of amazing stories from that guy. And while the CO's disapprove of prison rape, they don't intervene or get involved. The guards will hear your screams, but they don't care.

And children shouldn't be taught that the government should enjoy the fruits of a very screwed up drug war. Public schools churn out enough big-government retards already.

If you want to scare a kid, don't tell him drug dealers have Corvettes. Show them pictures of prolapsed anuses.

Kind of a pointless thread seeing how the car isn't even a real police interceptor.

Notice the "Cop Car" caption. And the GM Police Vehicles badge. How about the bigass removable vinyl. Oh, and the fact it's at a car show. I can see how you thought it was the governments vehicle.

Pretty sweet looking corvette in my opinion. I don't think it is an actual police car. It says General Motors Police. As in the car manufacture. Actually in some cities, they take impounded performance modded cars and convert them into police cars. Honestly though I don't think this is a real police car.

Edit - What people above me said.. i just read it now

Yeah...I was gonna say, I don't think General Motors has their own official police force.

Some departments are using fancy cars recovered from drug busts but they are primarily public relations vehicles. Used for getting kids to listen when presenting D.A.R.E. programs at schools, at recruiting booths to get people to stop and look and talk, that sort of thing.

Some departments are actually buying Camaro Zs and really beefing them up to have available for high speed chases and such, but not something like that Corvette.
