Well I've had my s14 for alittle over 3 years and over the past year I've had nothing but **** luck w/ my s14 SR swap. I bought my motor from Jazzpro (they suck serious ***) and when I got it in it had a bad turbo and rod knock. I had it rebuilt since I din't have the time or know how to do the build myself and 2000 miles later it spun a rod bearing at a drift event.

I got the motor torn aart this week since I've been taking my engine class at school i feel better about doing it myself. When I got it apart I noticed that two of the rod bearings were backwards in the rod ( the oilhole in the bearing was on the opposite side of the oil hole in the rod). Now I'm doing it myself with alittle help from my auto teacher and these are my thoughs n what I wanna do LMK what you guys and girls think

MODS:CP pistons (not sure what compression ratio or bore I want yet)Eagle rodsACL bearings NEW OEM CrankCouple new NissanOEM odds and endsARP studs/ bolts everywhere (already have headstuds)Apex HGLigtweight pulliesBC step 2 cams (already have comp springs in the head)HKS adj cam gearsPeak Boost top mount turbo maniT3/To4e 60 trim turboTial 38 mm wastegatePeakboost turbo elbow (already have 3in DP back exst)Greddy intake maniTomei 60mm throttle bodytop feed fuel rail 740cc or 850cc injectors (not sure yet)greddy oil panoil filter relocationApexi Power FC D-jetro

ummm I can't think of anything eles right now but I'm tryin to push 400whp on low boost and close to 450whp on high boost

lmk what ya'll think it's gonna be along build cuz I a in a co-op program for school i work in a chevy dealership 8weeks then i go to school for 8 weeks for 2years and when i'm in school i have no means of income at the moment. and i'm paying for all this by myself as well as doing suspension and body during this build

any helpful opinions would be great or advice car will be a weekend play around car and track car not my primary car but if i'd like it to be able to be driven to ATL,GA (6hr-ish drive) to see fam if I want so needs to be reliable

thanks again

New Oem crank? Got a link to this? everything sounds good but with that turbo I am sure you could hit some decently high numbers.

be careful reading your crank and block for your main bearing grade # and colors so you order the right size

i was able to get rod ACL bearings but not main ACL bearings so got fresh OEM

if you find some let me know i would like to upgrade

You have almost the exact setup as what I am running. I went cheap and didnt replace my front cover/oilpump untill this last rebuild. I strongly advise you to get a new one if you havent already. I spun all my mains and one rod.

You should definitely hit 400hp on that setup . My spring is set to 18psi I havent had it running long enough to get it to the dyno but, It will stay door to door with a 600cbr rr from a 40 kick till 6000 in fifth its just a laggy turbo but great up top,(5000 on)

He won't be able to use OE rod bearings since he's going with aftermarket rods. Anyways, a shop can easily mic up the bearing thickness and order the bearings from ACL or where-ever they order through. Since you're using brand new parts, you should be able to get bearings that are a bit on the tight side of the tollerances and will help oil pressure.

Personally, if the crank wasn't damaged much, I would consider having it turned and using undersized bearings.
