I found a vlsd lsd but it is just the internals and they say i need to buy sideshafts to put it in my car. I have a 91 20sx coupe. so do i need to buy the sidshafts or can i just put the lsd internals into my pumpkin and be ready to roll?

Not a good idea. The internals on a diff are no place for the novice mechanic.

Easier to just buy a complete bolt-in VLSD, shouldn't cost you more than $200.
