http://www.nissantech.com/foru...p=223 The wanna be know-it-alls need to stop. It's old, but I saw it and had to comment. The CA's bottom end can only handle 300hp, huh

These guys don't know any better, there 6months older friends told them that the SR is a better engine and when you are young, stupid and foolish, you will believe any thing your friends say. They just didn't take a minute to think that the RB series is a similar design engine as the CA as well as the VG30 engine.

But no matter what you do, these youngesters won't get it.

My only concern would be the pistons. I really think that is the only weak point of the CA's bottom end (hence me replacing mine). But I guess they're a cast piston just like the SR's is, so maybe I need to give them a little more credit. I guess Dee is going to find out exactly how far it will go, hunh? Heheheh

CA16 cams will not offer up what aftermarket sets will.

did it to an RB20, you pick up a little bit, worth it if you have an extra laying around.

Hey man, i really loved how you sacked it to him over there....lol....lol...lol that was hillarious; and i appreciate the way you defended our bad *** engine

I'm new to the engine thing myself, and i've always unconciously compared the SR20 to ours, but i've got more faith after joining this forum in our engine's capabilities............CA ALL THE WAY BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey seeing this has reminded me that i've also been told the same thing by one of my elders - that if i use the CA16 cams i would get more torque out of the engine.

And if you're going to say that it doesnt offer up as much as the after market ones, then why not prove it with some stats. Because i've searched and seen one of us with some HKS 256 degrees in his engine (with other mods of course), and making around 270hp, and i'm not sure how much increase you'll get using the CA16 cams......

CA16 cams are same as CA18 UNLESS you're talking about the non-pollution control models of the Sunny or whatever it was in europe where they are actually different. The part#'s are identical CA16 and CA18 otherwise. Those different cams may be the ones people on the SXOC forum had swapped about and gotten more power from.. but good luck getting those here.

Even if you get the right CA16 cams, the only one that's different is the intake.

I swear, I wish the CA16 cam conspiracy had never come to being. Sometimes I just want to go through the whole CA history and delete any reference to it. And then, when any new post is made even thinking about talking about thinking about talking about dreaming about thinking about talking about those damn cams, I'm gonna delete every post they've ever made and then find out where the live and flick them on the ear, REALLY HARD! Grrrr

Stats are readily published. Do not base global outcomes on a single set of data, a highly variable set at that.

I miked a set out of a J-spec CA16DE they were the same, it's voodoo man. Option magazine included it in a list of street rumors. If you want cams, GET cams.

just the matter-of-fact way he pissed on the CA was unacceptable. I am no fan of the SR for sure but I give it it's due props.

Having not ridden or driven in a CA18 powered car, nor messed with the engines, I can't really jump into the other site and go off on the guy. However, I for one am far more likely to believe a man who lives in Japan, and has wrenched on just about every engine to ever come out of Japan, over some kid who 'heard' from his SR buddies.

TMS is the reason I'm ordering a CA18DET for my S14 as soon as I get my tax return money back. *any freaking day now!*
