after weeks of looking and wondering, i've decided on what to do with my car situation(not realy but i think so, bear with me)one of my friends has an RB series engine out of a skyline with somethin like 40,000 miles on it i believe for $2,400, and this is a trusted friend by the way....so i was thinking that i would buy this car for like 5 or 600 dollars that i've found , its a 89 240 in good condition as far as the exterior and interior goes, but the motor is locked up...i have about $1,200 cash to buy the car with, then just wait for my car that i have now to be sold and use the money from my car(around $3,000) and buy and put the motor in the car with the messed up motor...after buying the 240 with the bad motor and buyin the engine i should have around $1,200 left over..

some of that will go towards putting the motor in by my friend who im buying the motor from, him and his grandad put one in an s14(badass car) so he has experience with the swap..so thats my plan what do you think? i think it sounds good personaly just thought i would like to hear some different point of view feedback, thanks for reading, sorry for the length

haha, and yea man sounds like a good plan, and also i noticed in ur sig, whta happened to the whole MR2 idea??, either way, nice to see u with a nissan, and especially an RB 240~~

about the mr2...i thought that through thouroly(sp) and did alot of research on the mr2 and decided to stick with nissan, especialy the 240, i dont know i just like my car for some reason:rolleyes so i think ill get another one....some of the biggest things about the mr2 is the 2 seater, and high insurance, I personaly like the looks of the 240 better anyways..thanks for the replys though(im in the process of changing my sig. now , now that you mention it)

haha, like the sound of the new sig man, good luck, actually, ive seen a 240 (98 SE 5spd!!!!!!!) in news on wheels for 9k , ONLY 17K miles!!, man i want it so badly, ill get the number of the owner to u tomrrow, but its in louisiana, so itd be a hell of adrive for u

thanks, ill be sure to put up sum pics of the motor and the swap if i remember(i'll try)....it wont be till probly teh next couple of months but im pretty sure this is what im gona do, its not like the usaual plan of thinkin up of sumthin then try to save up the money for it and it ends up never happening, i have the money this(and a constant flow of money every 2 weeks, not much but a jobs a joblol) and the o.k. from my friend for the motor and the swap...so just wish me luck:)

don't screw yourself. you have nice plans, exept for the part that you'll sell your car and use the money for the motor. in the meantime you'll have a car that won't work and it takes some time for the swap, and sh*t never goes quite as planned. if you can get hold of a car to drive for a week or so, you're good. good luck!

thats a good point AJ-SPEC, except for the fact that i dont get my license back until may 15 so i cant drive anyways, thats why it seemed like a good time to sell my car and do the swap now, im pretty sure i can sell my car, itll be on autotrader by tomorw probly..guess ill see what happens

no license till may 15? that sucks! what did you get it taken away for? anyways, it should give you enough time to get the car running if your help is pretty good, the sooner you sell your car the better. but if it's up and running good before may 14, it's gonna be hard not to drive it!

got my license suspended for several tickets, but the one that suspended my license was for drivn with out headlight(i was in a parkin lot and it was lit up and i had just started drivin through the parkin lot and got that ticket:rolleyes )that got it suspended for 3 months....

i never thought about that but your rightlol....self control self control self control.......im sure it will at least go up and down my road a couple times, im deff not goin near the main road, last thing i neeed is another ticket:( thanks for all the replies

man, if I were you, and you have a garage or something you can use for a few weeks, I'd detail the **** out of it, put a car cover on it, and give your mom or someone the key. go sit in it every now and then, but don't even start it, have someone else do it when your not there. believe me when I say that cops really have nothing better to do then cruise around your street at 1am in hopes of bringing your *** in, happened to a buddy of mine. but he has a crx (stock w/body kit) don't be like the honduh guys...

My only comment is, what are you going to drive around while all the work is being done on the 240? You mentioned that you're selling your car for hopefully ~$3k. Do you have another car besides the car that you're selling?

well like i said i cant drive legaly until may 15th anyways so this would come at a good time...i've got someone whos looking at my car tonight as a matter of fact , if this works out all i have to do is find another s13 for under 1,000, im currently lookin at 3 or 4 right now so all i have to do is choose basicaly....i know im probly makin this sound easier than it is but like i said this is my plan(not tryin to sound dramatic) and hopefuly tonight it'll start if i these people buy my car :xfingers thanks for all the replies
