1993 j30 with 111k miles.

the setup: 2 hi flowmonster cats 2.5" to a y-pipe goin str8 back to a megan racing carbon fiber muffler with 4" ti burnt tip,no resonators or mid mufflers, smoked front and rear side markers, hks super hybrid air filter,blk/grey front racing seat covers,no back seats, removed stock floormats ,no spare tire, nokya 9006xs headlights, piaa xtreme white parking lights and xtreme white front turn signal lights, carbon fiber wipers, ngk laser platinum plugs, removed rear trunk j30 emblem in place of a nismo badge, black floormats..

I use only bp ultimate premium 93 gas ever since i bought it and mobile clean high mileage 5w-30 till summer comes ill switch back.

comming soon: racing rims size 15" why? because the car is heavy as hell as is and im goin for a sporty racing setup, removing front grille and adding a black mesh grille that i will cut to fit in place, blue lights to my gauges, and carbon fiber eyebrows for headlights,

exhaust system sounds deep and same as a 300zx would with exhaust! no fart can noise or raspyness! just real deep and nice! i thank the hi flow cats and $150 muffler for the deepness it brings! dont be cheap and buy one off ebay that has no brand name to it it will sound like sht! and i saved alot of weight with just using 2 hi flow cats and 1 muffler from stock having heavier cats and 3 mufflers!

the rear seats werent removed in that pic but i will take a pic soon. i removed them and added some black carpet material instead that i did myself.

Looks nice & clean under the hood. My J in the same color combo. The 1st thing I did when I bought it was to remove the pinstriping, I think it looks much cleaner that way but that's just me.

Maybe you could post a sound clip of the exhaust.

I will be interested to see some of the rim pics when you get them especially 15". That's what I think I am going with soon only because I have new tire with only 3k & they are rated for 50k, I don't what to add @ $500 more for new tires. oTHErwise I would go with 17" rims.

What do you think of these:

I think these look the nicest so far in chrome for 15".

I used my fingernail to start peeling it up at one end & it peeled off in one full piece, it was like a decal not paint.

Not too keen on the 4" single pipe out but all else is really well done.

Would like a good sound clip of the exhaust if you can.

yes all belts were replaced including the timing belt and more stuff 5,000 miles ago. i replaced 2 fuel injectors also at infiniti and had the rest cleaned and they all are shooting fine and always use premium 93 gas at bp.

im kinda on the edge rather i should change the trans fluid now or not since i dunno when it was last changed it looks dirty what do you think? should i change just the trans fluid without the converter and the filter n gasket? im just worried about slipping.....

If its dirty theres no question that it should be changed ..

Drop the pan and replace the filter and O ring and gasket.Very easy.Clean the pan and magnet very well.I was lucky and had only a pea sized amount of clutch material on the magnet.

Put back in the same amount of fluid that came out when you drained the pan before dropping.Take a short drive going through ALL the gears.Drain the pan again and replace the exact amount.Repeat process till the fluid coming out is as pink as whats going in.Took me about 14 quarts and I used two cheapoplastic containers that will hold about two gallons of fluid.

After you drain into one pan , fill the other one up with fresh fluid till the level is the same.

so dont drain the torque converter correct? even a shop told me not to because of slipping gears they said just drain the pan only. im putting a new pan on there anyways because they said the old one is rusted real bad and wont be able to go back on there.

When you drain the pan about 3 quarts will come out.

when you refill and drive through all the gears the converter will get exchanged as well. That's why you need to drain and refill several times till the fluid looks new that drains out.

This process will get about 85 to 90 percent fresh fluid in the transmission.

That J looks in really good shape.

By the way your rims are on the wrong side, the J has directional rims, right side & left side.

Should look like this:

ok now i know what u mean the wheels on the right side should be on the left and the ones on the left should be on the right then they will be correct. i guess they were put that way when the tires were changed or rotated.
