Don't worry... she's not hurt... Just don't do this when your engine is cold, then its fine. Your G likes to rev high.
When you downshift, your gearing ratio causes your engine speed to go up, and you get this loud sound - the higher the engine speed, the louder it gets in any car. The reason for higher engine speeds: so you get more available power then you push the gas pedal.
Although this won't necessarily hurt your car, I wouldn't suggest you rev that high under normal driving for the fun of it or something.... This will waste gas, and I'd suppose it may get uncomfortable, and will cause long term harm to you engine : uneeded premature wear.
