Guys my 89 240sx needs the floor part of the seatbelt replaced cuz the buckle/button mechanism is broke on the driver and passenger side, the piece that is bolted to the floor.

So as you can tell I don't have the automatic seatbelts.

I must be able to use the same mechanism from a number of different Nissans especially of the same year. Can anyone offer any insight on this?

Thanks, the search showed up nothing...

i thought i read somewhere or heard some where that, any or all dealers are required by law to replace/repair and part of the seat belt system that beceomes damaged or nonfunctional no matter what warranty, year, who owns it currently, or conditions of the vehicle. because of its life saving function and legal require ment by nearly every state. i could very easily be wrong but i would take it to nissan they are suposed to fix any or all seatbelt problemns no matter how old free of charge

I replaced mine with one from a junkyard for about $25. they just bolt right in with 2 bolts. I didn't even have to remove the seat to do it. I didn't think to check if the dealer would replace it until later. Not too many junkyards here that had 240s. I had to call several before I found one.

yes but, what i'm asking is, are there similar mechanisms I could use form other nissan cars?

not specifically from a 240sx, but it wouldn't look out of place.

Thanks for the details, I'm calling on monday because we do not have a Nissan dealership here in my small city. :)

Closest one is 4 hours away. :) Hopefully I can arrange to have them sent to me and I'll install them.

Nissan offers a lifetime warranty for defects on their seatbelts in the states. Not sure about Canada though...
