It would really be helpful if this forum was grouped also according to the model year of the vehicles. for example 2005-2007 m35 forum topics would save you time instead of clicking on a topic that says m35 and finding out it's for a 2003 model. what do you guys think?

I totally agree. I used to own a Lexus GS and they had a 1st gen, 2nd gen, 3rd gen section .... would love to see the M set up the same way as 06-07 have little in common with earlier models.

I totally agree too.

My previous forum, AUDIWORLD, had them listed by body number (B5, B6). You had to learn which body number you had, but they had references to the year, even though some years had 2 body styles. They would also refer to them such as 2005 & 2005.5.

The problems that the early M owners have are mostly unrelated to 2006 & 2007 owners. They also deal with 2nd owner issues.

If needed, people can monitor both forums.

I will take it under advisement and see what makes sense to do ...

I agree - its annoying to sort through the new generation M45 topics. They're pretty different cars. I'm familiar with Audiworld's setup as well and like it.

I think this is a good idea. While I can appreciate how passionate 03/04/05 owners are, there seems to be very different issues. This would add some convenience. Good idea!

I agree too on this.

One other thing is bothering me is the For Sale section. It is grouped at the Infiniti level. It is apain to look up something in there.

Also the search would be nice to be at the Forum level and not at the whole Nicoclub website level.

But maybe I'm just too picky.

On average, this forum receives 17.47 posts per day. Simply not enough traffic to create another whole subforum and split. Now, push this forum and get it rockin and it will be considered. Alternately, you can all start threads off with G1 or G2 to specify which gen (or something similar).

Having problems with search? Read this thread:zerothread?id=252989

No prob. I'd love this forum to be busy enough for a split. It simply isn't

Ummm...

Personally, the reason I don't post in the first place is because I keep running into topics regarding the G1 M's when I am genuinely interested in the 2007 M.

It's tiring to having to sort through the posts first when a simple split could have the users save time and energy to click into the topics they're genuinely interested in without having to make sure it's related to the perspective generations!

How hard is it to make the split anyway?!

I personally think the Nissan and Infiniti forums should be separated as well.

Yeah... for people who are new to the forum that's exactly what it is, sorting through 17 posts a fricking day.

Whatever, obviously the admins on the board aren't listening to what the users want. No matter how big or small of a crowd, here are the voices and opinions. We're sorry that the majority of the M owners/perspective buyers probably don't have as much time as other NICOclub forum readers/members to even read, let alone post.

Having an attitude as such as an administrator definitely isn't going to help increase the traffic on the site.

bottom line is if you dont like it here then please leave. the admins have already stated that there isnt enough posts/traffic in a day in the section for them to deem a split necessary. So either make 10 posts a day yourself or find another forum that has as many knowledgable people as on here for your car. Oh yeah, there isnt one.Cheers

So, for reference, lets get your request straight. You want the M forum segmented, thus 1 additional forum. Then you want all Nissan/Infiniti forums split which would add an additional 7+ forums. Since the M forum was split, then the other forums should be split by chassis which will probably add 50+ more individual forums. Might as well split the engine forums too? 9 more forums. It's a snowball. Splitting the M forum into two individual forums would lower the number of posts and responses seen and it would be less effective of a M community as compared to the forum today.

And you wondered why I laughed? Do you realize the amount of effort the staff put in today just to keep this place running and the number of hours they volunteer to help members? What about the additional effort they would have just to watch multiple forums so they can monitor every thread and every post? No you don't. You are simply concerned with yourself it seems.

I stated it clearly why we had no reason to split the M forum and what it would take for it to be split. The members were not simply dismissed nor ignored. szhosain has taken note of the requests and will bring it up to the staff when he deems it may be a viable option.

As far as me having an attitude? Point it out please. Sorting through 17 posts a day seems a stretch for you but the rest of us sort through >3000.

Have a safe Memorial Day

I said for a new comer to sort through 10 pages of posts initially. Obviously 17 posts/day aren't many to sort through. Still nice to split by generation like the Z.

Is it your choice to sort through 3000 posts or is it your job?

auditech10 agreed that it'd be a good idea to split initially but ok.

Lastly, I'm pretty sure if I were to start 10 new posts a day I'd be flamed as a postwhore.

With any forum it will be a chore to sort through threads when you first join, regardless of the forums split or not. The amount of traffic has simply not warrented it at this point. Trust me, if the traffic was here and there was a need then I would support a split 100%. Maybe one day that will be the case. I sure hope so.

While I don't read every thread and post in a forum (that's the moderators job), I sure do see all the threads.

I think it would be nice to have them split at some point but every once in a while I have some constructive advice or criticism about a car that I dont have, so its nice to see them together. Since the F50 and the Y34 share many characteristics and components I like to read up on them and their problems as well, but since they are in different areas of this forum I very rarely check out the Q45 section and the same would be for the Y50 Ms.Cheers

Sorry I have not posted back in this forum yet ... been a hectic few days due to a variety of reasons.

Please read my post in the following thread: zerothread/250465, where I apologized for not providing the closure in this thread.

It is important to understand that we do listen and we did discuss these suggestions - I brought it up with the other Mods and Admins. We came to the conclusion that it was not warranted yet, for all the reasons mentioned in these two threads.

And, yes, when it becomes necessary and meaningful to do the two forums, we will take up the issue again and do it.

Thanks, everybody, for the comments and inputs!
