When I started looking for a car to replace my ageing Mercury Marquis, I wanted one that was a comfortable highway cruiser, that had a quiet interior and a high quality radio. I am hard of hearing and road noise cancels out spoken word for me.

My wife has a Lexus and enjoys it, but I wanted something different. I settled on the Q45 just from reading reviews on Carpoint.

As many of you know, I had a ton of problems with the suspension and almost sent the car to auction and called it a mistake. While looking for answers I found this forum and a bunch of guys that really, really care about this particular model of car.

Your input and incouragement has helped me stick it out long enough to see a happy ending.

I also will report that everything you have said about the Q45 is true. It is one fun car to drive.

I have been a Porsche enthusiest for over 12 years and have owned 8 of them. We have a club that is very active and we track our cars (time trial/road race) at least once a month.

But, I don't think my Porsche friends are any more passionate about their cars than you Q45 guys on this forum. I have never seen such loyalty to a particular car marque and model. It is amazing:)

I am also stuned at the professionalism shown by most of you. Even when the questions are mundane and uninteresting, there is always someone of you to step up to the plate and give an encouraging answer, not a put-down, turn-off remark. I see no egotism at all.........just good clean solid answers with a hint of humor when it is appropriate.

There is a Porsche/Mercedes mechanic (Peter) who works out of the same complex that my business is in and he is a mental mechanical wizard. He has 33 ASE certifications and is a triple master tech. I forward a lot of the technical information that Q45 Tech. (Dennis) posts and he expresses his amazement at Dennis's knowledge. If Dennis ever leaves, it won't be the same.............

Please know that I really appreciate everyone's help!

Well, kind of like the Porsche commercial......."I think I have to go drive my Q45 somewhere:)"

I would like to agree with Ben. This forum is the best enthusiast forum design out there. No other car manufacturer has a loyal enthusiast group out there I think.

Yes, this is a great site. I've learned so much here that I'm even beginning to understand some of Q45tech's technical explanations (and runon sentences ;) ).

I rode with a buddy on a longish road trip this weekend. We got back late tonight and I picked up my J from his place. Wow! The J30t is awesome. My buddy has a newer Mazda 626. A decent car but... It's not even close to being in the same league as the J. I felt really priveleged to be able to drive such a fine machine home tonight. I was tired when I got to his house but after 40 minutes in the J, I FEEL GREAT!:ylsuper

I love this site... its good to know you can go somewhere and have questions answered. Being a veteren of the 240SX.org days it has been hard to answer all the new 240SX questions... I have written 2 Faqs and still the questions pour in. Its good to see that we are helping people not make the same mistakes and to get a 2nd opinion on things before they act.

There is an intense following and loyalty in the Buick community. The guys in Bowling Green see that every year when the black cars invade the town. When I had mine, a guy in Lafayette drove down to help me tune my car because I didn't have a laptop. It was about an hour and a half drive for him to where I lived then.

We're not the only ones, but this is definitely a great place to be. The people I had the chance to meet back in October were great. There were people there with expensive turbo'd cars and others like me with much simpler cars and there wasn't ANY egotism or one-upmanship at all.

Gives me a big, fat warm and fuzzy! :icesangel

Repo's right - I used to be in the Buick Club of America. The T-Type/GN/GNX guys, the 68-72 A-Body guys, the early/mid 60's aluminum block guys, the 50's leadsled guys and the pre-war Buick guys all had an equal measure of respect for each others' rides and we had great times. I learned a TON from the turbo Buick crew, and having Mike Tomaszewski (from TA Performance, one of the kings of the 350/400/455 Buick performance scene) in the club was a huge benefit as well....

Why do you move stuff to General Forum? I think most of us on the Infiniti forum rarely check the General forum. It's kind of like killing the thread.

Move it back!
