ok so here it goes!!!!I was driving home last night and I went from first to second from about 4500 in first put it in second and she just died on me. i try to restart it but all she did is turnover I am freaking out trying to get my ride started wiggiling all the wires under the hood all of the connections but everything seemed like normal after all of this just trying to get her to even start about 15 minutes then she finally turns over but there was a loud ticking pinging coming right from the front of the engine almost positive it was the valves but who knows i was sitting on a steep hill going up could that have something to do with the valves????. And recently i have been having a problem with my tack, whenever i go left the bounces around like all the way to 8 then comes back up then back down very eratcily just did not think anything of it but maybe that had something to do with it????let me know what you guys thinkPaul

Front of the engine has a few things that could be at fault:Like you said... a valve problem.Timing chain failure.Distributor failure (this could very well affect your tach too).

started it up this morning and everything is fine even the tach must have been a loose wire seems to faster tried to duplicate the problem and could not so i guess i should check the timing chain
