Alright recently found a 98 240 SE with 32k miles on it, 5spd of course, the dealer is asking 12,800 is that a fair deal you think? (im thinking it is because with those miles is kinda like a 2 yr old car) let me know what ya think

Offer $12K, and remind the dealer it's a 5 (almost 6) year old car and ask if the 30K service has been done yet.:D

Yeah that seems like a good price, not a bad idea to talk them down though.

Remember that 1996 and newer is OBD II and they are much more of a pain in the arrrse to do motor swaps on and get to pass emissions if you decide to keep that KA.

rare, but no need to spend 1500+ extra dolars on it.

Unless youjust have to have a 98 5 Speed SE

alright, so half think its good and half this it isnt 8-) well im going to go look at it, and hopefully i can talk him down a little, but if i cant, it IS a rare car and i havent been able to find anything with less than 140k thats 5 spd, and i want a newer car. Something that would be safe to strap a turbo on it (thats why i want such low miles)

thanks for the input guys

GO FOR IT!

...remember, It's regretting something you've done is better than regretting something you didn't do... don't let it slip through your fingers...

..or buy a decent s13 for 1/4 the price.. :)

that price is about right for the year/miles. They only made 1300 97/98 240's so theyre kind of rare. Theyre cool looking too! On the other hand, you could buy a 90 or 91 TT300zx for that price :D

damn I donno... $12500 for a 240? Even though it is new, I dont see why you have to get the absolute most expensive one... You can find plenty of 5spd S14a's around for 7 and 8 grand... I wouldnt spend all that money just cause of the low miles... damn for $1500 you could rebuild the engine anyways with forged internals... why would you spend so much just so that it's newer... that doesnt necessairly mean anything anyways

turbo + OBDII = bad for emissions. but yah that car is a steal in my opinion, the only 97-98 models i could find were auto, definitely try and talk him down though, i'm sure you can at least knock off 400-500 bucks.

Ya called him up on it, happens to be an auto, even tho it said MANUAL 5spd! well the search continues...i may just look into one with a little higher miles because as the person above me stated, rebuilds arent that bad hehe.BMW's and GSX's are lookin nice too tho 8-)

thanks for y'alls opinions

I paid just under $9000 for my 97 240sx se 5 speed. They are rare so I would try to talk him down and go for it.
